Renderings of a facade and private courtyard by Ryu Ahn @ryu.ahn and Hye-Min Cha @gpals1129 for the Spring 2018 Form of Density II Studio led by Umberto Napolitano and Yan Roche of LAN Architecture. For this studio, students designed an ensemble of housing units, offices, and commercial spaces on the empty parcel in Paris next to an existing 19th-century Haussmann-style building. Diploma 15 – 2017-18 – The AA Museum Lab relentlessly questions the ever-changing role of cultural institutions through live built projects. This year we participated as an exhibitor in the 12th edition of the Manifesta art biennial in Palermo, where we investigated the complexities of the city’s cultural scene. Our ambition was to examine, unveil and instrumentalise curatorial strategies to give sites renewed value. Collaborating closely with local actors, the projects analysed the ‘land in suspension’ of the Belice Valley; contested the impending gentrification trends though street art curation; responded to EU political imperatives by challenging centuries of ritual’s procession; and brought the ‘forum outside the courtroom’. Individual projects are presented to the Manifesta audience in the format of a collective exhibition held within the complex of the Sant’Antonio. A Tribute to Water by Annik Keoseyan & Ilina Cvetkova #art #architecture #artitecture #koozarch What defined the one point perspective? We wanted to have a continuous reading of the spaces of the project and to achieve this we realized it was significant to have a constant central point of perspective. We also wanted to have unity in the way the viewer perceives each space and its atmosphere. One of us also studied with Martino Tattara from Dogma, where his approach to image making has been influenced by previous Italian artists and architects that focus the attention on a frontal view.
